Tea powder purity can also be assessed using a straightforward method. Adding a spoonful of tea powder to cold water should not result in an immediate color change if the tea leaves are pure. Rapid water discoloration could signal the presence of added dyes or coloring agents.

Although these home tests are not definitive and cannot replace professional laboratory evaluations, they provide a preliminary check for consumers worried about the quality of their food ingredients. To ensure food safety, it remains important to purchase products from reputable brands, carefully examine packaging details, and store ingredients properly.
