Qatar and Switzerland Strengthen Cooperation on Mediation Efforts

Qatar and Switzerland have signed a letter of intent to enhance collaboration in mediation and facilitation, marking a new step in their diplomatic partnership. The agreement was signed in Bern by Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh al-Khulaifi, Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Alexandre Fasel, State Secretary of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

The initiative reflects both countries’ shared commitment to peaceful conflict resolution and strengthening global peace and security. It aims to deepen cooperation in mediation, promote preventive diplomacy, and foster the exchange of expertise and technical knowledge aligned with international best practices.

Officials from both nations emphasized the importance of this agreement in reinforcing bilateral ties. Qatar’s extensive experience in mediation and Switzerland’s long-standing diplomatic role are expected to create new opportunities for partnership in regional and international dispute resolution.
